Frequently Asked Questions

What hypnotherapy and how does it work?

Hypnotherapy is a safe, natural approach that works with your mind and body to create positive change. During a session, you’ll be guided into a calm, focused state where your mind can become more aware of patterns, habits, and automatic responses that may be holding you back.

In this relaxed state, it becomes easier to explore new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding. Hypnotherapy helps you access your own inner resources so change feels more natural, sustainable, and aligned with the life you want to live.

Each session applies a practical approach that focuses on where you are now and the direction you want to move in, rather than analysing past difficulties. The aim is to help you understand how your mind works, calm the nervous system and support positive change.

The focus is always on solutions, strengths and small, manageable steps forward.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No, you remain aware and able to stop at any point. Hypnosis is a natural, focused state that most people experience in everyday life, such as when you are deeply absorbed in a book or a film.

You cannot be made to do anything against your will, and you will always be an active participant in the process.

What can hypnotherapy help with?

Solution focused hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, low confidence, sleep difficulties, unhelpful habits and feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

If you’re unsure whether hypnotherapy is right for what you’re experiencing, we can talk this through during the free initial call.

Do I need to talk about my past?

No. While your past experiences are acknowledged, the focus is very much on the present and the future. We concentrate on what you want to change and how to move towards that in a way that feels supportive and achievable.

This can feel particularly helpful if you don’t want to revisit past experiences repeatedly.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are £60 for 50 minutes. The first session, which includes a full consultation, lasts up to 90 minutes and is charged at £70.

How does payment and cancellation work?

Appointments are secured with payment at the time of booking. This ensures your session time is reserved exclusively for you.

If you need to reschedule, this can be done with at least 48 hours’ notice. Changes made within 48 hours are non-refundable.

Payment can be made via secure Stripe link or bank transfer.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person and depends on what you want to work on. Some people notice changes quickly, while others benefit from a longer period of support to consolidate the changes.

During your initial call, we can discuss what you’re looking for and what a realistic plan might look like for you.

Are sessions online or in person?

I offer online hypnotherapy sessions, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own space, wherever you are.

You’ll need a quiet, private comfortable place, a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. Online sessions are designed to be just as effective and supportive as in-person sessions.

What happens in the free initial call?

The free initial call is a chance for us both to get a sense of whether working together feels right. You can ask questions, talk briefly about what you’re looking for support with and find out how hypnotherapy could help.

There’s no pressure to commit and no obligation to book sessions afterwards.

If you have any other questions that are not covered here, please do get in touch.
